CONSTITUTION OF THE CHRISTIAN REFORMED CAMPUS MINISTRY ASSOCIATION
(Amended 4/27/93 and 5/23/2007)

I. Membership

The Christian Reformed Campus Ministry Association (CR-CMA) is a voluntary, professional organization.
1. FULL MEMBERSHIP is open to persons engaged in Christian Reformed Campus Ministry and/or Christian Reformed persons engaged in Campus Ministry and who pay the annual membership dues of the Association.
2. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP is open to persons previously engaged in or presently interested in campus ministry and who pay the annual membership dues of the Association. This is a non-voting membership.
3. HONORARY MEMBERSHIP is open to retired Christian Reformed Campus Ministers and others upon the recommendation and approval of the Executive.

Membership shall be RENEWED ANNUALLY prior to the beginning of the membership year. The membership year shall conclude August 31.

II. Purpose

The purpose of the CR-CMA is
1. to promote campus ministry within the Christian Reformed Church;
2. to provide those engaged in campus ministry with:
a. a structure for regular collegial support and nurture,
b. opportunities for spiritual renewal and professional development,
c. a means of sharing campus ministry information and ideas,
d. a forum for identification and discussion of issues of mutual concern,
e. an annual conference/meeting,
f. a medium for communication about and advocacy for campus ministry within the Christian Reformed denomination,
g. a liaison relationship with Christian Reformed Home Missions (CRHM),
h. a liaison relationship with other campus ministry associations;
3. to advocate the scope and character of campus ministry as it is articulated in the "Vision for Campus Ministry" of the CRC.

III. The Executive Committee

The affairs of the CR-CMA are coordinated by an Executive Committee chosen from the "Full Membership."
1. The Executive Committee shall consist of four members:
a. Chair-person;
b. Vice Chair-person/Conference Coordinator;
c. Secretary/Treasurer;
d. Newsletter/Journal Editor.
2. Alternates will be elected for Vice Chair-person/Conference Coordinator, Secretary/Treasurer, and Newsletter/Journal Editor who will:
a. receive the minutes of the Executive Committee;
b. be available to serve on sub-committees;
c. serve on the Executive Committee when the respective position is vacated.
3. The term of office shall be three years, with the possibility of one additional term. The terms of office shall be staggered so as to ensure continuity of membership on the Executive Committee.
4. Elections for the Executive Committee members and their alternates will be held at the annual meetings of the membership. Nominations for vacant positions will be made by a committee appointed by the Executive Committee. Additional nominations may be made at the annual meeting.
5. The Executive Committee shall meet at least two times a year.
6. The Executive Committee may appoint sub-committees to assist it in carrying out its tasks.

IV. Tasks of the Executive Committee

1. The Chair-person is assigned the usual duties associated with this office. In addition, the Chair-person will coordinate gathering and interpreting the concerns of the members, and coordinate the representation of the CR-CMA at meeting of the CRHM, Classes and other appropriate ecclesiastical bodies.
2. The Vice Chair-person/Conference Coordinator is assigned the usual duties associated with the office of Vice Chair-person, including assisting the Chair-person with assigned tasks. In addition, the Vice Chair-person is responsible for coordinating the planning for and the program of the annual CR-CMA conference and annual meeting, and for encouraging and facilitating regional meetings of CR-CMA members.
3. The Secretary/Treasurer is assigned the usual duties associated with these offices. The Secretary/Treasurer will maintain a current membership list and will coordinate the drafting of an annual budget for CR-CMA. This budget shall be approved by the Executive Committee which shall present it to the annual meeting for adoption. This person shall serve as liaison for legal matters.
4. The Newsletter/Journal Editor shall be responsible for coordinating the editing and distribution of a CR-CMA Newsletter/Journal, which ordinarily will be published twice a year.

IV. Finances

The CR-CMA shall be funded by:
1. annual dues of members;
2. an annual grant from CRHM which shall be negotiated by the CR-CMA Executive Committee;
3. other funding pursued by the Executive committee.

VI. Amendments

These provisions may be amended upon majority vote by the CR-CMA membership at any annual meeting.
